A Stylish Wedding at St Giles, Dorset
St. Giles House – a manor house in the quaint village of Wimbourne St Giles, complete with internationally renowned stud farm and the air of being oh-so classically British…with just a few epic surprises tucked up its sleeve. A&D’s wedding at St Giles, Dorset was a masterclass in taking a classic and making it totally, decadently your own, so I’m going to celebrate it all over again with you now.

What to expect from a wedding at St Giles, Dorset
St Giles combines the magic of the historic English aristocracy with a deep understanding of what it takes to throw an epic party, and that’s one thing your wedding definitely will be when you work with me! The estate is part of a village that has managed to avoid being modernised beyond recognition, one of those little pockets of the country that feels much like it probably did 100 years ago. Once you arrive at St Giles, you won’t want to leave – so it’s a good thing it’s such a perfect venue for multi day celebrations.

With plenty of accommodation on site including the Riding House and Pepperpot Lodges (who wouldn’t want to stay in one of those?), you can totally detach from the rest of the world and go big on quality time spent with your loved ones. But can I tell you why I really love St Giles so much? It’s the little unexpected delights that you’d never see coming…
Despite being a manor house, St Giles is cool. The vibe is chic and fabulous, but with a big dose of fun and surprise. In the ceremony room you’ll find an exposed brick wall and ceiling, right there alongside the classical floor-to-ceiling oil portraits and gilded doorframe. Later, when it’s time to party, you can make your way to their incredible basement and celebrate like you mean it beneath the stillness of the estate. St Giles describe their secret basement nightclub as ‘decadance’ and, honestly, it couldn’t be more perfect.

A&D’s wedding at St Giles
Planning A&D’s wedding at St Giles was an opportunity to really get into the details. There were lots of personal touches and the styling was elegant, taking a traditional green and white colour scheme and giving it a new lease of life. Here are some of the highlights:
- Their tree-lined ceremony room complete with big, fluffy hydrangeas, all of which was reminiscent of the fields of little white flowers outside on the estate. The Way To Bloom provided the most gorgeous florals for A&D’s day.

- A meaningful ceremony song for A to walk in to, a special moment of connection for the family
- A stylish champagne escort card display – each glass of fizz had a little card attached with a guest’s name and their table name, quite literally a refreshing way to help guests to their seats

- The place settings were in tonal shades of green, with olive menu cards and velvet ribbons; the dining took place in the library, and the colour scheme was so sumptuous against the various spines of old books

Other highlights of A&D’s day included surprise speeches from the kids, amazing cocktails from the tree bar, and of course the surprise party in the basement which guests were led down to by a saxophonist – just to make sure the party didn’t have to stop even for a second!
There’s something about a wedding at St Giles, Dorset that really ticks all the boxes – beautifully British, but a bit of a dark horse! Want to see what all the fuss is about?
