The 7 Best Orangery Wedding Venues Near London
There’s something so special about an orangery wedding, with natural light in abundance and the delicate balance of aristocratic vibes with contemporary styling opportunities. Some of the UK’s best glasshouse wedding venues can be found within two hours of London, blending the convenience of city proximity with the allure of feeling totally removed from society. These are the 7 best orangery wedding venues near London, offering al fresco ‘I do’s without the weather worries.
Kew Gardens

The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew are about as iconic as they come, and for this orangery wedding venue you don’t even have to leave London. You actually have not one but four glass-filled spaces to choose from here – two conservatory spaces, the Grade 1 listed orangery and the epic Temperate House (the world’s largest Victorian glasshouse).
Invite up to 200 guests to your celebrations, dining and dancing in spaces that are as alive as your party. You and your guests will need to source accommodation in the surrounding areas if you’re getting married here, and it’s important to note that Kew is open to the public until 4pm so the festivities can’t start until then! The help of an experienced wedding planner is crucial at a venue like Kew Gardens.

Avington Park

Hampshire’s Avington Park is next on the list of best orangery wedding venues near London, a country estate accessible in less than an hour by train. This is an amazing location for a weekend buyout, and many couples host several days of events here to enjoy it to the fullest. The orangery space is lovely for indoor-outdoor weddings, with the sides opening onto the beautiful south lawn and natural light pouring in. Avington is special for many reasons, not least because you can arrive at your wedding ceremony by boat!
180 of your loved ones can gather here to celebrate you, though I recommend keeping it below 150, leaving one of the side orangeries available for a stylish bar and soft lounge seating. For guest numbers of 120 and below, everyone can dine together in the same main orangery which is an intimate and exclusive experience.

Avington can house over 90 of your nearest and dearest across the estate, making it the perfect option for a full weekend buyout. There’s also a pub at the end of the road with some additional rooms, meaning that in total around 100 guests can be within walking distance of the fun. The city of Winchester is just a stone’s throw away, so finding accommodation for the rest of your guests is no trouble – I particularly like to recommend lovely hotels such as the Hotel du Vin.
This orangery venue really feels like the perfect escape from the city, allowing you to enjoy a (rather lavish) home away from home with everyone you love. They even have paddleboards and canoes for some fun water based activities to enjoy throughout your wedding weekend – we can already picture the groom’s party making a splash on the morning of the wedding!

Clevedon Hall

The best orangery wedding venues near London all offer floods of natural light, and Clevedon Hall’s offering with its beautiful arched windows and glass ceiling is definitely no exception. Clevedon is a Jacobean style Grade 2 listed venue, but its wedding spaces and 25 bedrooms all feel right up to the mark for modern amenities and design.
For dinner you can invite up to 150 guests, and an extra 100 to party with you in the evening. You can exclusively hire the place for several days, and there is even space to land your helicopter if that’s how you’d like to arrive to say your vows!

This venue is the farthest from London on the list, but I still think it’s worth considering as it makes such a great option for a weekend buyout.
Cornwell Manor

No list of orangery wedding venues near London would be complete without a visit to the Cotswolds, so next we find ourselves at the magnificent Cornwell Manor. This Georgian exclusive-use venue is romance epitomised and delivers on quintessential British bliss, and you’ll find historic gorgeousness, unspoilt English countryside and an absolutely unforgettable experience. It’s also worth mentioning that Cornwell Manor has the starring role as Jude Law’s house in the classic Christmas movie ‘The Holiday’ – it’s your very own opportunity to play hide and seek among the trees in these gorgeous grounds!
Your three day weekend wedding at Cornwell Manor can host up to 100 guests in the orangery for a civil ceremony. If you have larger guest numbers then a marquee can be arranged on site to accommodate up to 300. There are 12 bedrooms in the main house, with the possibility to add glamping tents in the orchard – not to mention the extensive array of gorgeous Cotswolds pubs and Air BnBs nearby.

Kensington Palace

Who doesn’t want to get married in an 18th century palace orangery? Up to 200 guests can dine at Kensington Palace, or 120 if you’d like to have your dancing in the orangery space too. This space in the gardens of Kensington Palace has recently been restored and reopened for events, and spills out onto the lawns which you can make use of for your drinks reception. Just imagine saying you got married at a real English Palace, one which was home to Kate & Wills and Harry & Megan before their move stateside!
There is no accommodation on site, however its position in the heart of London makes access easy and allows for further revelry before and after your wedding in our country’s vibrant capital. Just like Kew Gardens, Kensington Palace is open to the public during the day – your events have to start after 5pm, so I recommend this as a reception venue with your ceremony taking place elsewhere.
Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace wows from the moment you arrive, with its incredible extensive grounds and historic gravitas. Getting married in the orangery, there is a sense of spaciousness and lightness with its glass panelled ceiling and fabulous arched windows. Up to 250 of your loved ones can join you for drinks, dinner and dancing, but you’ll need to use their in-house caterers and source accommodation in the nearby areas.

For those interested in history, Sir Winston Churchill was born at Blenheim Palace in 1874!
Wilderness Reserve

Last but certainly not least on our list of best orangery wedding venues near London is Wilderness Reserve, offering you the chance to spend up to five days celebrating on site. Wilderness Reserve truly defies description and has to be seen to be believed, and you can spend your time wandering among its woodlands, lakes and breathtaking English countryside, relaxing in one of its 130 guest rooms, and hosting unforgettable events in its many and varied event spaces.
You, your partner, 300 guests*, 2 hours from London with a vibe that’s about as exclusive as it gets…sounds epic, doesn’t it?

*300 guests can be accommodated across the multiple sites at Wilderness. Taking both (soon to be three) sites here is great for larger guest numbers, but if you’d like everyone to be housed together within walking distance then using a single site is best. This truly is a perfect setting for a multi-day celebration, with all guests staying onsite across different cottages and such versatility in how all their spaces can be used.
