The 8 Best UK Weekend Wedding Venues

Your wedding is probably one of the most important and meaningful parties you’ll ever host, and if you’re celebrating across several days you’ll be planning multiple separate but interconnected events. While you’re busy hiring all your different suppliers to make your wedding dream team, you’re going to need someone to essentially project manage the whole thing – and no, your venue’s coordinator or events team isn’t going to fill that role. So before we get into the best UK weekend wedding venues, I encourage you to look for a great wedding planner you trust and connect with to help you create something really amazing.

There are loads of incredible planners out there; finding one that aligns with your vision and expectations is key, as is wholeheartedly trusting them to pull it off. It’s also important that you get on with them as a person as you’ll be planning with them for some months, so make sure you like them and trust them! If you’d like to book an initial enquiry call then I’d love to chat with you further and see if we might be a good planning fit. 😊

Wilderness Reserve

Need to know:

Hosting a weekend wedding at Wilderness in Suffolk is an adventure, and you can hire one or both of its sites (soon to be three!) for up to 300 guests. There are 130 rooms and the cottages are just gorgeous, and you’ll be able to have the whole place to yourselves with exclusive hire for up to 5 days. That’s quite a weekend!

Why you’ll love it:

Did I mention the exclusive hire for five days? You and your guests can completely get lost in the wonder of Wilderness, soaking up its endless countryside, woodlands, lakes and gorgeous indoor spaces. Everyone can stay within walking distance of your events if using just one site, and the various possibilities for events are almost endless.

Avington Park

Avington Park seen from above, one of the best UK weekend wedding venues

Need to know:

Less than an hour from London but with an exclusive estate vibe, Avington Park can hold up to 180 guests. If your numbers are less than 150 you can maximise the space by using the connected orangeries, and for less than 120 everyone can celebrate together in the main glasshouse space, which we highly recommend. There is space for 90 guests to be accommodated on site, a further 10 at the local pub, and plenty more in nearby Winchester.

Why you’ll love it:

If arriving to your ceremony or drinks reception by boat isn’t reason enough, Avington also made my list of the best UK weekend wedding venues because of its home away from home atmosphere (albeit a very grand home!), that gorgeous glasshouse, and its opulent, quintessential country estate interiors. It’s romantic, beautifully blending the old and the new, and delivers on escapism by the bucketful.

Cornwell Manor

Cornwell Manor's facade, covered in ivy - one of the best UK weekend wedding venues

Need to know:

Cornwell Manor can be hired for 3 days over a weekend, hosting 100 guests in the orangery or up to 300 in a marquee on site. The main house has 12 lovely bedrooms, and there are plenty of quaint Cotswolds pubs and B&Bs in close proximity. If your loved ones are glamping fans, tents can be set up in the orchard.

Why you’ll love it:

If you’ve ever seen ‘The Holiday’, you’ll recognise Cornwell Manor instantly. Georgian gorgeousness meets extensive English countryside, at a venue complete with ballroom, pool, church and well kept water garden – it really feels as though you’ve been invited to stay with Lords and Ladies for the weekend. 2000 acres could be all yours for your wedding, in the heart of the irresistibly scenic Cotswolds. With so much space, there’s loads of different, equally beautiful, areas that we can utilize to create multiple memorable events across a weekend!

Four Seasons, Hampshire

Need to know:

Up to 200 guests can celebrate with you at Four Seasons Hampshire in the main ballroom, with other lovely options for smaller numbers which include the beautiful walled gardens or Orchard. One of the benefits of booking a hotel for your UK weekend wedding venue is that everyone can stay on site, and this one is just close enough to London to feel easy but just far enough away to feel like an escape.

Why you’ll love it:

It’s got historic charm and all the luxuries and modern comforts you could want, and includes a spa, high ropes course and multiple outdoor activities which you and your guests can make use of across your wedding weekend. The outdoor spaces are gorgeous; I love the orchard or walled garden for ceremonies and drinks receptions, and it also works wonderfully to dine in on those warmer days  – it’s no wonder S&F chose it for their elevated Alice in Wonderland style garden wedding, which you can explore in more detail here (link). There is also a wonderful spot just beyond the pond that makes for some stunning golden hour shots!

Findon Place

Findon Place is one of the best UK weekend wedding venues; seen from the front

Need to know:

Invite up to 120 of your loved ones for your ceremony, and up to 150 for your wedding dinner. There is room for up to 10 people to stay on site at this family owned country house in the South Downs National Park, close to a lovely stretch of the south coast.

Why you’ll love it:

Findon Place is one of the best UK weekend wedding venues because it can be hired on an exclusive use basis, giving you this Grade 2 listed Georgian manor and its beautiful parklands all to yourselves. The interiors are opulent in style with period features, statues and impressive doorways, and it’s absolutely full of charm from its ivy clad walls to the private swimming pool and tennis court.

My absolute favorite thing about this venue is the stunning gardens, whether that be the walled garden by the tennis courts or the manicured lawns by the pool, or the more untamed fields in the distance, there are so many stunning spots for couples wanting to enjoy all the gorgeous English countryside vibes! It’s also worth noting that there is a church right next door which proves very handy, and the short walk back to the venue is the perfect length stroll to be accompanied by a wandering roaming band to guide your guests back with a bit of a fun musical atmosphere!

Euridge

Need to know:

Euridge has a capacity of up to 150 guests, with 32 able to stay on site in its exclusive accommodation. You have so many options for hosting your wedding here, with indoor and outdoor spaces that are truly unique.

Why you’ll love it:

Romantic architecture, stunning gardens, a picturesque boathouse (that’s possibly one of the most ‘instagrammable’ ceremony backdrops in the UK, and quite frankly looks like a setting from a European fairytale!) and that signature castle arch make Euridge a little wonderland that can be all yours for your weekend wedding. Outdoor dining under the rose pagoda, dancing in the grotto after sunset, and admiring the extensive surrounding countryside and total peace and quiet the day after…what’s not to love?

Belcombe Court

Need to know:

Belcombe Court is licensed for civil weddings indoors, has an amazing 18th century barn space that’s perfect for afterparties, and is truly a little country escape. Whether your wedding is more intimate or your guest list more extensive, you’ll find what you’re looking for here.

Why you’ll love it:

A variety of gorgeous spaces available to use for your celebrations, as well as the possibility for post-wedding pool parties, a shell grotto (yes really!) and the most stunning grounds to capture your just-married photos. A very English experience in the heart of quaint Bradford on Avon, close to historic Bath.

Bocconoc

Need to know:

Cornwall’s Bocconoc can be hired for 1, 2 or 3 nights depending on just how long you’d like your weekend wedding to be, and can host 100 guests indoors or up to 240 with the extension of a marquee. There is space for 54 guests to stay on site, and an 800 year old church available for your ceremony if you’d like.

Why you’ll love it:

Truly beautiful Georgian interiors and miles of Cornish countryside in view make Bocconoc a wonderful weekend wedding venue and a perfect escape. The estate boasts a staggering variety of spaces to host your ceremony and celebrations, and even in the height of summer you’ll find total tranquility among its gardens, lake and deer park.
